About Alastair Stewart

Hakomi Therapist Counsellor and Therapeutic Supervisor

I have been working therapeutically with mindfulness for 15 years. In that time I have travelled and developed a method of working that offers a spectrum of interventions to foster the flow and appreciation of our humanness.
My work environment has varied from residential to community, individual to group facilitation.
I see the opportunity to offer simplicity and stillness, tender speech and a loving presence as a gift and my life purpose.

I’ve lived with Zen monks, which showed me brotherly love and a deep grounding in mindfulness. A practitioner of somatic healing, a father whose delivered his own, partner, and some say a shape shifter, and others say well-rounded!

I am a qualified, experienced body-centred psychotherapist with trainings in Hakomi Psychotherapy, Person-centred work, and experiential supervision. My practice works on the following principles.

Relevant Qualifications:
Certified Hakomi Therapist
Certified Supervisor
Diploma in person-centred Counselling
Certificate Counselling Adolescents.
BA Hons Philosophy and Sociology
Dip.H.E. Organisation Studies

Unity – acknowledging everything as part of a greater whole
Organicity – the experience of healing from the inside out
Mindfulness – the practice of noticing present experience
